on the Lab Machine I went to the Desktop, and started Mocha
I opened the File menu -> connect -> MVSF

I enter:
L TSO   (this is a shortcut to Logon TSO)

I enter my User id
user900


I enter my password
irs4you

then press enter when I see  ***

I am now looking at the TSO (ISPF) Menu

during this class I will be using selected ISPF menu options
=3 to access the Utility menu

=3.4 will list all the files I own

F3 is exit
=x to log off

=3.2 to allocate (create) a new file
   when using =3.2 
   I enter A to allocate
   I enter the name 
   on the next screen I enter
   TRKS
   1 - primary
   1 - secondary
   0 - dir blocks
   FB - format
   80 - record size

at any ISPF menu I can access USS by 
TSO OMVS (Open MVS)

USS basic commands:

pwd <- print working directory
who <- show connected users
ls <- dir listing

I can connect to the MF 2 ways:

1) via Mocha (a terminal tool)
2) via RDz (a GUI tool)


to access the MF via RDz I do:
1) open the zOS Project perspective
2) in the Remote System View (window) 
    I open a new z/OS... connection
    this open the new connection wizard
    
    as the Host Name I enter:
    mvsf.protechpts.com
    and click finish
    
 3) I open the z/OS Unix Files 
     and open My Home
     
     I now need to enter 
     userid/password
     user90x/irs4you
